Virtual Workshop on Cryptocurrency, Ghana

Interest in cryptocurrency, a form of digital currency, is growing steadily in Africa. Some economists say it is a disruptive innovation that will blossom in Africa.

With this in mind, AGA-Africa in collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office – Ghana and the Ghana Police held a Virtual Workshop on Cryptocurrency on 23rd to 24th July 2020 and 27th to 28th July 2020 respectively.

The first workshop was graced by Yvonne Atakora Obuobisa, Director of Public Prosecutions, Ghana and Maame Hagan, AGA-Africa Country Coordinator for Ghana.

The speakers were: Dr. Herbert Gustav Yankson, Director Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police and John Bridge, Director of Financial Crimes Technology at Trust Stamp.

The second workshop was graced by AGA-Africa’s Board Member Markus Green and Dr. Herbert Gustav Yankson, Director Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police, Ghana. The panelists were Dr. Herbert Gustav Yankson and John Bridge, Director of Financial Crimes Technology at Trust Stamp.
