The digital economy is globally developing at lightning speed, and with it a new challenge has appeared, along with the economic and strategic stakes that go with it: this new danger is cybercrime.

The increased cyber activities brought about by the measures employed to deal with the current Covid-19 pandemic have revealed a big gap in the knowledge on how to effectively deal with cybercrime.

In this respect, AGA-Africa in collaboration with the Malawi Law Society held a 2-day webinar on Cybercrime & Electronic Evidence from 30th to 31st July 2020.

The webinar was aimed at enhancing knowledge and skills levels of members of the National Task Force in handling electronic evidence and to facilitate exchange of knowledge and experiences amongst a cross-section of authorities in dealing with cybercrime.

The webinar was graced by AGA-Africa’s Board Member Markus Green ESQ, Burton C. Mhango, President of the Law Society of Malawi and AGA-Africa Country Representative Gift Caroline Chikwakwa.

The panelists were Michael Hemberger Intelligence Analyst, Wisconsin Department of Justice, USA, David Maas, Assistant Attorney General, State of Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Legal Services, USA, Innocent Kalua, Head of Legal and Compliance, Open Connect Limited and Dr. Sunduzwayo Madise, Dean of Faculty of Law, University of Malawi.
